The California Rebellion 2012, a group that is the brainchild of Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone, will hold its first town hall/rally this upcoming Saturday December 1 at Vail Lake Resort, outside of Temecula.
Several Southern California area leaders will be speaking at the rally which is being held from 12:00 noon until 4:00 p.m.
“California is facing the worst economic times since the Great Depression and unfortunately we are becoming a welfare state,” Stone said. “We’ve got the highest debt of any state in the union,” he continued.
With California now having the lowest credit rating of any U.S. state at the same time that taxation and expenditures are skyrocketing, a growing number of fiscally-responsible leaders are voicing concern.
Menifee Mayor Elect Scott Mann is one of the scheduled speakers that will address how Sacramento’s mismanagement is impacting local communities.
Last year, Stone proposed a plan for the following 13 counties in Southern California to secede from the state if the elected officials continue to betray the public trust by driving the Golden State into economic peril. Those counties are: Riverside, Imperial, San Diego, Orange, San Bernardino, Kings, Kern, Fresno, Tulare, Inyo, Madera, Mariposa, Mono.
The public is encouraged to attend and participate in Q & A sessions. Admission is free, but there is a parking fee of $10 per vehicle. Food is available for purchase on the premises. Vail Lake Resort is located at 38500 HWY 79, Temecula, CA.
